Air tank, air receiver for rotary screw air compressor system

Your rotary screw air compressor should be installed like this as in above picture. It contains: rotary screw air compressor, air tank/receiver, refrigerant air dryer and pipe air filters. This is the most popular system in factories.

Let's talk about the air receiver/air tank in this section.

In above picture is a most popular air tank, 1000 liters, 8 bar. Material: Q345R.

You can find out it have 4 main parts only: the body of the tank, the safety valve, the pressure gauge, the water drain.

1.The safety valve: 

For example the working pressure of the air tank is 8 bar, when the pressure goes up to 8 bar plus, the safety valve will be opened to let the air go out the keep the air tank safety.

2.The pressure gauge:

The pressure gauge used to show you how much pressure exactly inside the air receiver/air tank right the time when you want to know.

3.The water drain:

As we are using the compressed air, and the air from the atmosphere same as everyday we  breathe, it got a lot  gaseous water inside, when the rotary screw air compressor compressed the air to let the volume of the air become very small (at the same time the pressure goes up), the gaseous water become to liquid water goes into the air tank/air receiver with the compressed air, most of them will stay in the bottom of the air tank,air receiver. And will be more and more water inside the air tank, so we need to let the water go out every few days depends on how much compressed air you use everyday.

4.The body of the air tank:
